Microcontroller secures IoT endpoint devices

The low power microcontroller is based on a 48MHz Arm Cortex-M23 processor core with 256kb code flash and 32kb SRAM. There is also an integrated 16-bit ADC, 24-bit sigma-delta ADC, 12-bit DAC, op amps, and high speed, low power comparators, to eliminate the use of discrete components to reduce BoM costs and also the size of the PCB.

Industrial applications and IoT endpoint devices benefit from low power consumption and this microcontroller has a software standby mode that consumes just 500nA, making it suitable for IoT and battery-operated applications that have extended periods in sleep mode.

Integrated security functions contribute to systems that connect to the cloud without the need for external security devices or functions, says the distributor, citing the integration of an AES cryptography accelerator, a true random number generator and memory protection units as examples of the device’s security features.

Other features are capacitive-touch-enable pins to accelerate the development of touch-based human machine interfaces (HMIs). A memory mirror function switches from one memory region to another with minimal software overhead, allowing developers to quickly implement over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The microcontroller and TB-S1JA target board kit are shipping now.

in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
