IMUs help devices navigate safely
The IMUs deliver six degrees of freedom sensing, using triple-axis MEMS-based gyroscopes and accelerometers, with low noise, low drift and vibration rejection, to characterise motion even when disturbed by wind, vibration, temperature or turbulence.
There are three versions available, the ADIS16470 has a gyroscope dynamic range of ±2000 degrees per second (dps), while the ADIS16475 and ADIS16477 are available in dynamic ranges of ±125, ±500, or ±2000 dps.
An evaluation board (the EVAl-ADIS27) and breakout boards (ADIS1647x/PCBZ) are available to help evaluation and development. The breakout boards are plugged into the 16-pin connector on the evaluation board to develop a prototype.
The compact IMUs have a footprint of 11 x 15 x 11mm and are supplied tested and factory calibrated for bias, alignment, sensitivity and linear acceleration.
