Huawei controlled firms doing business in Iran and Syria, alleges US

A Huawei exec ‘appears’ to have been appointed Skycom’s Iran manager, says a Reuter’s, while three people had bank account signing rights for both Huawei and Skycom.

Huawei says Skycom and Canicula have nothing to do with them except as a normal business partner.

The USA is now alleging that Skycom was used by Huawei to sell telecoms equipment to Iran and receive payment for the equipment in contravention of the US ban on trade with Iran.

Huawei had said it had sold its shares in Skycom when it had sold them to Canicula – another firm allegedly controlled by Huawei.

Meanwhile the USA tries to extradite Huawei’s CFO, the daughter of Huawei’s founder, from Canada where she was arrested at the request of the US.
